About Fillmore Montessori
We are a licensed and insured large family home care with a full Montessori education program for children 2-6. Stephanie has a bachelors in fine art, a Montessori teaching credential and more than ten years of experience in the classroom. We have an indoor/outdoor classroom, organic garden, sandbox, playhouse, tricycle track, and a turf area. We serve organic lunch and snack.

Our Environment
Food
-
Other than original packaging, food does not contact plastic or teflon during preparation or serving.

All food contact surfaces are silicon, glass, stainless steel, or wood.

Because of food safety, health, and environmental, risks associated with processed foods and pesticides, we serve almost exclusively organic foods always prepared fresh.

No canned or frozen foods are ever used.

Water
-
Hand washing water is softened with a non-chemical water softener.
-
Water for cooking or drinking is reverse osmosis filtered.

Water is served in glass or stainless steel.

Sanitation
-
All cleaning is done with mild soaps and disinfected with E.P.A. approved botanical disinfectant.

No bleach or other harsh chemicals are used in the environment.

Clothes and dishes are sanitized with sanitize settings on washing machines.
-
Indoor air is filtered with HEPA-13 level filter.
-
Hands are washed with touches soap and faucets.

Waste
-
All food waste made by the kids will be composted.
-
A 4.5 kw solar system provides the power for the electric oven and other appliances.
-
Creative reuse is taught through art projects and low impact alternatives are always discussed.
